Brasfield Accounting is a rapidly growing small business located in Homer, Alaska. We focus on small business consulting with a special emphasis in grant and contract funded companies. Brasfield Accounting provides bookkeeping, accounting, business development, administrative support, grants management, compliance support, and financial reporting/analysis.
We are currently looking to add a… remote full time member to the team who can help us as we continue to expand. This team member will be depended on for grants/contracts administration and coordination. The company has a group health insurance plan, dental, short term and long term disability, paid parental leave, and a 401K plan with matching. This position includes company paid holidays as well as three weeks of paid time off.
5+ years experience with Quickbooks Desktop, Quickbooks Online, AND Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) are required.
Experience with government grant or contract audits required (preference given to candidates familiar with performing the audit)
Experience managing 1099 preparation and submission required
Background in excel, mathematics, finance, computer science, is also a major plus—however, we will consider candidates from all backgrounds. The main key is the ability to learn quickly, exquisite attention to detail, computer/tech savvy, and a knack for quantitative tasks. We need a critical thinker and a problem solver.
Background and/or experience in government grants and/or contracting would also be a fit for our company.
Responsibilities Include:
· Project managing annual audits with CPA firms for our clients
· Assisting with onboarding of new clients / book clean up
· Deliverables for clients including: bookkeeping, financials reports, coordination with CPAs for tax returns, and 1099s
· High level accounting projects for clients
· Review of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements
· Coordination of proper payroll entry from staff-run payroll reports
· AR/AP
· Journal entries as needed
· Assistance with company wide projects/initiatives
· Collecting action items from client calls and coordinating delivery
· Other activities as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
