What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
• Manage a portfolio of automobile casualty losses, including bodily injury and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims
• Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate all aspects of automobile claims
• Determine coverage exposures and screen losses effectively
• Direct the activities of outside vendors, including adjusters and attorneys
• Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff as needed
What Is Required (Qualifications)
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent technical/specialized knowledge or related experience
• 4-6 years of experience in claims adjusting or 5-7 years with a High School equivalent
• Considerable knowledge of the technical aspects of claims management
• Strong decision-making skills within position standards
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
• Prior claims adjusting experience in bodily injury
• Knowledge of medical terminology and liability issues
• Experience or education in the insurance industry
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Familiarity with basic computer systems
