Key Responsibilities

As a Grant Accountant, you will:

Set up and manage state and federal grants and sub-grantees.

Develop and maintain grant budgets, financial reports, and forecasts, ensuring they meet all grant requirements.

Oversee the financial aspects of grants, including monitoring expenditures, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements.

Ensure compliance with grant terms, regulatory requirements, and accounting principles.

Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure they understand and adhere to grant guidelines.

Provide training and support on grant accounting, financial management, and compliance.

Conduct financial analyses and offer recommendations to help clients make informed decisions about their grant programs.

Assist clients with grant applications, renewals, and closures, managing all financial aspects effectively.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or other relevant certifications are a plus.

At least 5 years of experience in grant accounting, particularly with a consulting focus. Experience with subcontractors is beneficial.

Strong knowledge of grant management, compliance, and reporting requirements.

Expertise in financial forecasting, budget development, and management.

Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insightful recommendations.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex financial information clearly to clients and subcontractors.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and projects efficiently.
