The Insurance Billing Specialist will interact with all insurance companies primarily on Hearing Aids/Durable Medical Equipment and clinical billing. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely submission of a clean claim to various insurance payors, including commercial and government payors, while adhering to government regulations and coding guidelines.
Essential Functions…
• Responsible for running the system-based worklist and identifying all unbilled claims.
• Responsible for reviewing invoices to ensure all billing requirements are met.
• Keep up to date on industry changes and accepted billing practices
• Responsible for creating and submitting complete insurance claims within acceptable date lag from DOS, once the claim has been flagged to bill
• Review and resolve claims that were rejected in the clearinghouse with an acceptable time frame of submission. Notifies and collaborates with the clinic team to obtain any missing/incorrect information for unbilled claims promptly.
• Partners with the AR and Insurance Follow-up Specialists to assist with resolving any claims issues.
• Resolve any assigned SNOW tickets from the field.
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Work Experience
• Background in healthcare
• Prior medical insurance billing experience
• Basic Medical Terminology
• Experience with completing billing forms
• Experience in dealing with various insurance companies.
• Working knowledge of Excel
• 1-2- years of related experience in a professional or hospital setting
• Must be organized and ability to work within designated timeframes
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Detail oriented
• Must be able to work remotely and achieve expected outcomes as defined by CBO leadership
Education:
• High School diploma required
• Bachelors’ degree in a related field preferred or equivalent years of experience
