JOB DESCRIPTION
The Leave Analyst will play a pivotal role in overseeing the administration of leave of absence, disability, Americans with Disabilities (ADA), workers’ compensation and ergonomics processes. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of benefits administration, leave policies, disability management, and relevant legal regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manages all aspects of employee leave programs, including but not limited to FMLA, state-mandated leaves, personal leaves, and company-specific leave policies.
• Coordinates, researches and follows up with employees, department management and insurance carriers to facilitate tier 2 level issue resolution.
• Oversees the disability and workers’ compensation claim lifecycle by collaborating closely with external vendors and internal stakeholders to support the return-to-work process.
• Oversees workplace ergonomics to ensure employee safety and comfort.
• Ensures compliance with… federal, state, and local regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), by reviewing accommodation requests, engaging in the interactive process, and implementing reasonable accommodations.
• Partners with internal legal counsel and external consultants to ensure compliance with leave laws, disability regulations, and ADA requirements.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including People Relations, Legal, Safety, and Finance, to streamline processes, implement best practices, and enhance the overall employee experience.
• Stays informed about industry trends, legislative changes, and emerging best practices related to leave administration, disability management, ADA compliance, and Workers’ Compensation.
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with external vendors, fostering collaboration and communication to streamline processes, resolve issues efficiently, and optimize plan effectiveness.
• Identifies process improvements to provide exceptional experiences for employees.
• Ensures leave programs are current with regards to trends, practices, costs, and competitiveness.
• Participates in special projects, initiatives, and process improvements as assigned by the Benefits Manager and/or Director of Total Rewards.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years of related experience (employee leave of absence management, ADA, and/or experience with worker’s compensation processes) with a Bachelor’s degree. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
• Strong management/time management skills and multi-tasking abilities.
• Detail-oriented; flexible and creative.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and logical reasoning.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of plan provisions.
• Knowledge of benefits theories and principles.
• Knowledge of Delta Dental’s policies, procedures, and guidelines is preferred.
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $55,000 – $116,900
