The Role

Workweek seeks a Vice President of Finance to oversee the company’s financial operations, including financial planning and analysis (FP&A), accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and a proven track record of driving financial growth and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
• Financial Planning and Analysis:
Create financial models and forecasts to guide business planning and decision-making. Analyze current financial performance and project future revenues, expenses, and cash flow.
• Budgeting & Cost Management:
Develop and manage the company’s budget, monitor spending against budget, and implement cost-control measures to allocate resources efficiently.
• Cash Flow Management:
Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow in and out, ensuring liquidity to meet obligations and invest in growth opportunities, optimizing working capital, and planning for cash shortfalls or surpluses.
• Financial Reporting:
Oversee financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for internal decision-making and external stakeholders.
• Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, tax laws, and regulations, including timely filing of tax returns and managing sector-specific reporting requirements.
• Operational Finance:
Oversee day-to-day financial operations such as invoicing, payroll, and transaction processing to ensure efficiency.
• Risk Management:

Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks that could impact the company’s assets, earnings, or operations, managing insurance coverage and developing risk mitigation strategies.
• Investment and Funding Strategies:
Evaluate and execute strategies for raising capital through equity financing, debt financing, or other sources, managing relationships with investors, banks, and financial partners.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in financial leadership roles, with expertise in FP&A, M&A, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
• Thorough understanding of financial reporting standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for financial growth and sustainability.
• Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Prefer MBA with a background in investment banking
• Work IRL from our Austin office
