Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Accountant to join our finance team. This role involves processing and reconciliation of payroll and commissions, collaborating with department managers for invoice approvals, reviewing monthly financial reports, and preparing actual vs budget analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Payroll and Commissions Processing:
– Process payroll accurately and timely.
– Reconcile payroll reports to ensure accuracy.
– Calculate and distribute commission reports based on performance metrics and employee compensation agreements.
2. Invoice Approval:
– Work closely with department managers to ensure all invoices are approved in a timely manner.
– Verify the accuracy of invoices and ensure proper documentation is in place.
3. Financial Reporting:
– Review monthly financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
– Prepare and analyze actual vs budget reports.
– Identify variances and provide explanations to management.
4. General Accounting Duties:
– Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes when needed
– Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
– Support audits and compliance activities as required.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar role.
– Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
– Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
– Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Working Hours:
– Flexible scheduling is available, but some fixed hours may be required.
