PURPOSE:
The Sr. Business Consultant provides expertise in tailored, strategic, and critical work to help design, launch, and execute programs that support initiatives in the changing healthcare industry. This position will lead efforts for the implementation and maintenance of a Contract Responsibility Matrix to manage business risks relating to its operations under the Contract. This individual will also help drive Postal Services Health Benefit Program (PSHBP) changes within current or amended Contract with BlueCross BlueShield Association (BCBSA). This role will involve leading projects with assistance of others and identifying the appropriate team within organization to manage the project(s) moving forward. The Sr Business Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting Leadership with implementation and execution of new initiatives that impact FEPOC Finance, Contracts and Operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Support efforts in renegotiations of contract… renewal for the BCBSA and SBP Contract.
• Responsible to drive efforts in operationalizing Contract Responsibility Matrix across FEPOC (to include: proactively communicating, training and working with Compliance & Risk to monitor performance throughout the organization).
• Provide critical support in the additional work relating to administering contract requirements for PSHBP or any new Contracts SBPASC may negotiate.
• Provide subject matter expertise in a particular area (including but not limited to; project management, contract management, finance and budgeting, data and metrics, information technology, etc.) that contributes to the effective accomplishment of initiatives tasks and goals.
• Proactively build and lead cross-functional teams and projects between internal and external stakeholders to deliver value to supported team.
• Proactively identify ways, means, and platforms to build constructive interaction and mutually reinforcing workstreams to accomplish tasks more effectively across different business functions of initiatives.
• Review and support task coordination while identifying potential process improvements within Contract Management.
• Design and run dashboards to support clear communication across vertical components of business.
• Develop and manage technology platforms to track progress, programs, and impact for supported business area(s).
• Support budgets, policies, and assist in task/functions with Lead Contract Specialist.
• Build trusted relationships within FEPOC and across CareFirst to deepen subject-matter expertise, find opportunities to synchronize, and ensure close coordination with teams in their areas of responsibility.
• Identify opportunities for synergies to improve task execution across Finance, Contracts and Operations department.
• Work collaboratively with other support partners in our current and upcoming programs.
• Communicate strategy, programs, and next steps to leadership and our partners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree OR in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 10 years experience in business development, operational technology support, general business operations and/or consulting experience.
Preferred Qualifications: MBA or other graduate degree in business related field.

Salary Range: $115,120 – $205,777

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilites of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on each case’s facts and circumstances, including but not limited to experience, internal equity, and location.
