Staff Accountant – Remote | WFH

Key Responsibilities…

Prepare journal entries and assist with the month-end close process.

Maintain and manage various workbooks and schedules, including prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, loans, leases, and vehicles.

Perform account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy.

Update bank activity spreadsheets and related schedules.

Review weekly timesheets for accuracy and compliance.

Process and maintain biweekly payroll and PTO accruals.

Code technical invoices for the Accounts Payable Coordinator.

Review and process expense reports and reimbursements.

Prepare for external audits and manage audit requests.

Handle annual business personal property tax returns, business license renewals, and state annual reports.

Manage miscellaneous filings for government agencies.

Develop expertise in our accounting system and payroll platforms.

Assist in training and delegating duties to existing staff.

Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of internal systems and procedures.

Support system conversions and integrations through testing and evaluation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

At least three years of general accounting experience.

Experience working with various levels of management and employees.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to accounting, payroll, and benefits.

Proficiency in Excel and Word.

Experience in the A/E industry is a plus.

Familiarity with Unanet and/or Deltek is a plus.
