We are excited to invite a Finance Manager to join our dynamic team! This role offers the flexibility of remote work, but candidates should be prepared to travel regularly to Norfolk, VA, and the DC Metro area.
You will play a crucial role in leading and managing multiple indirect budgets, acting as a key business partner to help achieve our financial goals. You will report to the Finance… Director and provide strategic guidance and leadership to ensure the successful execution of financial tasks. Your responsibilities will include overseeing contractual compliance, cost management, and budget development for U.S. government contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a Business Partner to business area leaders, providing insightful financial analysis and guidance.
Prepare and present monthly reports on key financial metrics to business line management.
Utilize accounting systems and various financial tools to build comprehensive reports for analysts, operations, and management.
Manage a portfolio of programs, understanding different contract types and customer needs.
Oversee indirect budgets and provide guidance on budgeting/reporting, sales, overhead, proposal pricing, and long-range planning.
Review and recommend actions on financial performance, including revenue recognition and ensuring accuracy.
Manage Accounts Receivable and cash collections for the business area.
Support proposals and contract negotiations by understanding contracts and RFPs.
Ensure responsiveness to Program, Customer, and Corporate needs.
Develop innovative resource planning solutions to meet corporate, customer, and program deliverables.
Communicate effectively with Program and Corporate Leadership, providing clear, prepared updates on key issues.
Engage with leadership on key business operations issues, offering clear, actionable solutions.
Identify areas for improvement in financial accounting applications and operational procedures, communicating these solutions effectively.
Respond to internal and external inquiries for financial data and act as the main interface with auditors regarding financial statements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of US GAAP reporting.
7+ years of progressive management experience in a related area.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Strong English communication skills, both oral and written.
Extensive experience with Government Contracting finance.
Solid understanding of budgets, estimates, and projections.
Ability to analyze data, identify problems, and propose solutions independently.
Capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with Costpoint and Cognos preferred; Hyperion and SmartView experience also a plus.
