Senior Accountant – Los Angeles, CA – Remote | WFH

We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Accountant to join our dynamic, fast-paced environment. In this role, you will take charge of daily accounting operations, month-end close processes, and financial reporting, while also contributing to various special projects. Your attention to detail, along with excellent collaboration and communication skills, will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage month-end close activities, including recurring journal entries, prepaid amortization, and accruals.
• Perform account reconciliations for general ledger balances, including cash, prepaids, accrued expenses, fixed assets, leases, inventory, and other current assets.
• Generate and review financial reports to ensure accuracy and integrity of accounting entries and data.
• Ensure that accounting procedures align with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Identify and implement process improvements within the general ledger accounting function to enhance scalability, efficiency, and productivity.
• Administer travel and expense reimbursement and credit card management within Brex Empower.
• Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team to reconcile and initiate lease payments, ensuring they are processed accurately and timely.
• Proactively seek opportunities to improve both manual and IT-dependent accounting and reporting processes.
• Conduct technical accounting research and prepare analyses to propose appropriate accounting treatments.
• Work independently and across teams to tackle complex tasks and challenges.
• Partner with business units to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls, providing support on special requests as needed.
• Assist with external and internal audit requests for documentation during annual audits.
• Participate in other ad hoc projects and analyses as assigned.

What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial analysis techniques.
• Ability to develop logical solutions to accounting issues.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Prior audit experience.
• A motivated self-starter who is proactive and action-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
• Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and embrace change.
• Experience in the medical industry is a plus.

Preferred Experience
• Experience in the medical or tech industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct, Brex Empower, and LeaseQuery is a plus.
