Summary The Senior Payroll Analyst will provide operational support for all steps required to ensure a “zero defect” weekly payroll cycle, including, but not limited to, payroll tax research and regulatory updates. This individual will serve as a backup to the Payroll Manager and provide quality customer service for employees who have complex issues by promptly responding to and resolving payroll-related inquiries and communicating follow-up as necessary. Responsibilities Ensure payroll set up and compliance with union contract(s) requirements to timekeeping and payrolls systems for accurate wage payments Support union reporting and audits as needed to support negotiation requirements Assist in internal and external audits and prepare any necessary schedules or analyses related to payroll, including workers comp reports and 401(k) reports Audit for and apply Wage and Hours changes such as predictability, right to rest, convenience of the employer across the timekeeping and payroll… systems ensuring accurate payments or taxation Audit to ensure data accuracy for new hires, relocations, and other changes to ensure they are accurately reflected in all systems Create ad-hoc reports and conduct required system audits Ensure payroll team is following record retention rules as related to audit, and SOX compliance within payroll, as needed. Design, develop, and implement confidential management reports as required Gather, correlate and analyze facts to define payroll related issues and develop a recommended course of action to resolve the issue and prevent recurrences Collaborate with team members, leadership, and/or employees to achieve timely resolutions Determine and implement improvements to increase efficiency in areas of ownership Support for compliance or processing errors on payroll-related tickets Support system development activities and participate in system testing and internal communications related to Kronos, ADP, and Success Factor, including payroll information, training, forms, notifications, etc Monitoring and reporting for vendor tracking of tickets for processes, enhancements, tax and compliance updates from beginning through to completion for supporting Leadership reports Maintain departmental tracker for Payroll end-to end processes, tax regulations and ensure internal processes and metrics for Leadership and cross-functional support Assist with running weekly payrolls; ensuring that all tips and tipped wages are collected and reported for employee payments Perform other duties as necessary Requirements Associate degree in accounting or a related field 2-4 years of experience as a Payroll Compliance or Payroll Analyst 3-5 years of Payroll experience within a complex, high volume, multi-state payroll system required Working knowledge of payroll processes, including data entry, pay calculations, garnishments, tax set-up, benefits, multi-state taxation rules, and wage & hour laws, etc Experience with ADP (WFN/Advantage/Enterprise) and/or Kronos preferred Advanced Excel skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated knowledge of finance-related payroll processes, including data entry, pay calculations, tax and benefits, multi-state taxation rules, wage and hour laws, etc Ability to understand and track missing and/or required payroll components Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information reviewed and processed Proven ability to maintain accuracy and timeliness of all payroll-related functions Ability to understand, calculate, and explain complicated calculations and figures Excellent analytical skills The ability to work under tight deadlines About Us Chobani is a food maker with a mission of making high-quality and nutritious food accessible to more people, while elevating our communities and making the world a healthier place.
