What You’ll Do
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data and ensuring smooth financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and posting journal entries with accuracy and timeliness.
Regularly maintaining and reconciling the general ledger.
Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Analyzing financial data and preparing reports for management.
Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaborating with other departments to streamline accounting procedures and enhance efficiency.
Supporting internal and external audits by providing necessary information and documentation.
Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing new systems to improve financial reporting and control.
Mentoring junior staff and supporting their professional growth.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred but not required.
At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a distribution company, though other backgrounds will be considered.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
Experience with journal entries, income statements, general ledger, balance sheets, and month-end/year-end processes.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
