What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
• Confirm coverage of claims by reviewing relevant policies and documents
• Analyze coverage positions and prepare coverage position letters independently
• Conduct and direct investigations into loss facts and damages
• Negotiate and settle claims, particularly those in litigation
• Serve as a technical resource and provide training and guidance to new hires
What Is Required (Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; JD preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of claims handling experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Successful completion of 3 years as a Claims Examiner
• Must have or be eligible to receive a claims adjuster license
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
• Participation in industry training opportunities (CLM Claim College, Munich Re Training, FDCC, etc.)
• Strong litigation management skills including experience directing defense attorneys
• Proven ability to influence claims stakeholders and direct claims strategy
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
